No, apparently this may have been scheduled. The truck backed down our street, the guy pulled up home, opened garage, handed over keys. Truck left, guy closed garage & left.

I do know the guy was in some sales at some dealership & lost his job months ago. I’m pretty sure they have been living somewhere else. He has some medical issues too.

I have a friend that has a one-man (himself) tow company. He supplements his income by doing repos. He told me one time October is a crazy month for repos. When i asked why, he told me it’s because of a particular Hyundai dealer here in town. I don’t want to mention names, but he has a “Huuuuge!!” sales event in June where he tries to sell 1000 units in a month. That means he strong-arms the banks and gets people financed that really shouldn’t be. So, buy the car with shaky credit in June, miss July payment, miss August payment, miss September payment, october rolls around and my friend spends all month picking up accents and elantras.

That was actually free to us with a dead battery and no charger. The kids push it around the yard & flip it over acting like they are working on it.

What sucks is I know the owner lost his job months back and this was the wife’s car. He drives the sporty black Juke. They had a Ford Edge before this car with plates that said “4BRADEN” their kid of about 7-9.

I believe they are even living somewhere else at this point, so I’ll get some new neighbor’s soon.

I always thought tow truck driving & repo would be a decent side job.

In our town it’s the Kia dealer that seems to do this and one of their things is to offer you three months of no-payments, so I’m guessing it’s more like 6 months later that all the Kia repos happen.
